‘Morning again in America’: Mamdani celebrates Democratic midterm sweep, says 'it's time to deliver'

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani urged fellow Democrats on Wednesday (November 4) to turn their midterm victory into results for voters squeezed by rising prices, saying, "it is not enough to simply win power. We must use it." "Now, it's time for us in the Democratic Party to deliver," he said. "My friends, it's morning again in America." Mamdani, 35, won an election in 2025 and became as the city's first Muslim mayor, the first of South Asian descent, and the first born in Africa.
