Venus Williams honored with new 'Barbie' doll inspired by 2007 Wimbledon triumph

Barbie has unveiled a new Venus Williams doll celebrating the tennis legend’s achievements on and off the court. Priced at $38, the Williams Barbie will be available on Mattel Shop starting August 15, 2025 (Friday).

Part of Mattel’s 'Inspiring Women' series, the doll recreates Williams’ iconic look from her 2007 Wimbledon victory. The championship marked the fifth of her seven Grand Slam titles and was the tournament where she became the first woman to earn equal prize money at a top-level event.

The doll features a white tennis dress identical to Williams' championship outfit, a green gem necklace, wristband, tennis racket, and ball.


In May 2024, Williams was also featured in a special Barbie collection celebrating the brand’s 65th anniversary, which honored nine trailblazing female athletes from around the world.


"Barbie proudly welcomes tennis legend Venus Williams to our Inspiring Women series," said Krista Berger, senior vice president of Barbie and global head of dolls at Mattel, in a press release, according to parents.com.

Williams says that the recognition holds deep personal meaning, "Being honored as a Barbie Inspiring Woman is incredibly special. I hope this doll encourages young people to dream big, know their worth, and pursue their goals with confidence and heart."
