Suits holds steady atop streaming charts, Grey's Anatomy surges, and Disney+ dominates the scene

In the ever-competitive world of streaming entertainment, "Suits" continues to maintain its position at the top. According to Nielsen's latest data for the week of September 25 to October 1st, the legal drama has stayed put firmly at the top, despite a gradual decline in viewership. Over the course of the week, "Suits" even managed to rack up an impressive 1.3 billion minutes of viewing across Netflix and Peacock.

Among the challengers, "Grey's Anatomy" made a noteworthy appearance by surpassing the 1 billion minutes viewed mark, securing the second position on the charts for the second consecutive week. The last time it achieved this milestone was in March 2020, during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. The reasons behind this resurgence in viewership remain somewhat unclear, given that Season 19 landed on Netflix in June, suggesting that a belated boost from the new season is unlikely. While "Grey's Anatomy" is a consistent presence on Nielsen's streaming charts, its recent surge in weekly viewership stands out.

Diving into the overall streaming list, acquired content dominates, with the sole streaming original being "Love Is Blind." The release of two new episodes from Season 5 pushed the series to the fifth spot on the list, with a total of 821 million viewing minutes.


Disney+ has reason to celebrate, as it claimed three titles on the overall list: "Haunted Mansion," "Bluey," and "Elemental." This achievement is rare for the streaming platform, occurring only a few times since its inception. The last time Disney+ enjoyed such success was in April 2022 when "Encanto," "Moon Knight," and "Turning Red" all made the list.

In the realm of streaming originals, Disney+ continued to shine, with "Ahsoka" securing the second position and "Loki" landing in sixth place. The debut of Season 2 of "Loki" during this period garnered 446 million viewing minutes. To provide context, the series premiered in June 2021 with an impressive 731 million viewing minutes in its first week.

Although there is a possibility that "Loki" may experience growth in viewership in the coming weeks, it is unlikely to match the viewership of Season 1. The dynamic world of streaming continues to evolve, offering valuable insights into the ever-changing preferences of viewers.
