Iran launches missile strikes in Kuwait, UAE, Qatar and Bahrain: List of US military bases targeted
US, Israel attack Iran: The Middle East Crisis deepened dramatically after Iran launched missile strikes targeting key American military installations in Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain, marking a sharp retaliatory escalation in the ongoing US-Iran confrontation. The strikes came hours after coordinated US strikes on Iran in partnership with Israel, intensifying fears of a broader war with Iran.

Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) carried out the operation in response to what Tehran described as aggression following Israel's attacks on Iran and subsequent US attacks on Iran.

List of US Bases Targeted by Iran

According to the Iranian semi-official Fars news agency, quoted by the Guardian, the following US military installations were targeted by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC):

  • Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar
  • Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait
  • Al-Dhafra Air Base in the UAE
  • US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain
The developments show the expanding scope of the Iran attack beyond Israeli territory, bringing multiple Gulf nations into the line of fire.

Iran attacks US Military bases: Al-Udeid Air Base, Qatar

Located near Doha, Al-Udeid is one of the largest US military bases in the region and serves as a critical hub for air operations. Qatar’s Defence Ministry said it successfully intercepted all missiles fired toward its territory, as per international media reports. Explosions were reported in the capital Doha, but officials confirmed there were no casualties or material damage.

The Interior Ministry urged residents to avoid suspicious objects and to report any debris to authorities.

Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait, a strategic site supporting US Air Force operations, was also listed among the targets. Kuwait did not immediately provide details on the extent of damage, but regional security sources said defensive systems were activated following the us attacks iran today and retaliatory Iranian fire.

In the UAE, Iran reportedly targeted Al-Dhafra Air Base, located near Abu Dhabi. The base hosts US forces and advanced aircraft used in regional operations. Emirati authorities have yet to release an official assessment of the damage.

Iran attacks US Military bases: US Navy Fifth Fleet, Bahrain

Bahrain confirmed that its territory, including the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet base, was targeted by missiles. The headquarters, situated southeast of central Manama, oversees maritime security operations across the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea and parts of the Indian Ocean.

The extent of the damage to the Fifth Fleet headquarters remains unclear. Satellite imagery in recent days suggested that American naval vessels typically docked in Bahrain had moved out to sea, possibly as a precaution.

Regional Fallout After US Bombs Iran

The Iran attack on US bases followed a major military operation in Tehran earlier in the day. Explosions were reported nationwide in Iran, including near sensitive government and military sites in the capital. US President Donald Trump said the military had begun “major combat operations” after Israel attacks Iran in what it termed a pre-emptive strike.

“Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime,” Trump said, reiterating that Washington would act decisively if Tehran continued its nuclear and missile development.

The Israeli military issued Persian-language warnings advising evacuation from areas near weapons production and military facilities in Iran, stating that civilian presence in such zones posed serious risks.

Shortly after the coordinated US Iran strikes, explosions rocked northern Israel as Iranian missiles were intercepted by air defence systems. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Strategic Stakes in the Gulf

The US Navy’s Fifth Fleet plays a central role in safeguarding shipping routes in the oil-rich region. Its area of responsibility includes three critical maritime chokepoints: the Suez Canal, the Bab al-Mandeb and the Strait of Hormuz, the latter lying between Iran and Oman.

Iran has repeatedly threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz if attacked, a move that could disrupt global energy supplies. Iranian-allied Houthi rebels in Yemen have also signalled they may resume attacks on shipping lanes and Israeli targets.

The escalating Israel-Iran and US-Iran confrontation has further strained diplomatic efforts. Tensions had already been high as Washington and Tehran attempted negotiations aimed at limiting Iran’s nuclear activities.
