As the New Year approaches, it's time to take note of the Netflix Originals bidding adieu globally or in select regions throughout January 2024.

The departure of these titles raises questions about why Netflix Originals leave the platform, a phenomenon largely tied to the licensing agreements, especially for earlier Originals.

1) Nike Training Videos (End of December 2023)

Nike Training Videos, a series catering to fitness enthusiasts, is set to exit Netflix at the end of December 2023. If your New Year's resolution involves shedding some pounds or adopting a healthier lifestyle, you'll need to explore alternatives beyond Netflix. The departure includes popular titles like "10 Minute Workouts (Volume 1)," "20 Minute Workouts (Volume 1)," and more.

2) I Am Jonas (January 1)
Next up is the French Netflix Original, "I Am Jonas," a LGBTQ+ romantic teen drama, scheduled to leave on January 1st. Having arrived on Netflix in March 2020, this movie is set to bid farewell as the clock strikes midnight in all countries.

3) When Heroes Fly -Season 1 (January 10)

Following closely is "When Heroes Fly" (Season 1), an Israeli thriller leaving on January 10th. The series, which premiered on Keshet 12 in Israel in October 2018, revolves around four Israeli military veterans embarking on a journey to Colombia in search of a lost loved one. Despite a commissioned second season, its future remains uncertain.

4) El Vato (January 15)
"El Vato," a biographical drama originating from Mexico, will conclude its Netflix journey on January 15th. The series, offering a glimpse into the deceptive music world in Los Angeles, will bid adieu six years after the release of its final second season.

5) The Square (January 17)
"The Square," a documentary added to Netflix in January 2014, capturing the 2011 Egyptian Revolution, is set to leave on January 17th. Directed by Jehane Noujaim, the documentary received critical acclaim and numerous Emmy awards. Its departure raises questions about potential renewal, given its significance to Netflix.
