Amazon Prime Refunds: Millions could get automatic payments next month-Are you eligible for Amazon's automatic refunds under the massive $2.5 billion settlement?
Starting October 1, millions of additional Amazon Prime customers could receive automatic payments as part of a settlement. This expanded distribution includes consumers who used 11 to 20 Prime benefits within a year. Eligible subscribers do not n...

The payments are linked to allegations that Amazon signed up customers for Prime without their clear consent and made it difficult for some people to cancel their memberships. For people who qualify, the process should be simple. There is no need to submit paperwork or contact Amazon to request the money.
Who qualifies for the Amazon Prime refund?
The latest round covers customers who used between 11 and 20 Prime benefits during a 12-month period. These subscribers were not included in the earlier payment rounds. The settlement covers eligible customers in the United States who enrolled through certain disputed checkout screens or tried unsuccessfully to cancel their Prime membership between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025.There is another condition. Customers must have used no more than 20 Prime benefits during any 12-month period after signing up. Services such as Prime Video and Prime Music count toward that total.
The amount customers receive will depend on their eligibility and previous payments.
Under the revised settlement, the maximum total refund for an eligible customer has increased from $51 to $200. That means some people who already received a payment could get additional money.
Customers who previously received the lower capped amount may qualify for a supplemental payment of up to $149.
The FTC has said Amazon had already paid more than $845 million in refunds to affected customers as of September.
The full payment process is expected to wrap up by April 2027.
Amazon settlement includes $2.5 billion in payments and penalties
The agreement follows allegations from federal regulators about Amazon's Prime enrollment and cancellation practices. The company agreed to pay $2.5 billion as part of the settlement.Of that amount, $1 billion is a civil penalty, while $1.5 billion has been set aside for consumer refunds.
Payments will be sent directly to eligible customers through PayPal, Venmo or paper checks mailed to their addresses. Customers do not need to pay a fee or provide extra information to unlock their money.
There is one detail recipients should remember. Any electronic payment or paper check must be redeemed within 60 days of being issued.
The FTC is also warning people to watch out for refund scams. With millions of customers potentially receiving money, fake messages and calls could become a problem.
Neither Amazon nor the FTC will ask customers to pay money to receive their refunds. They will also not demand personal information or promise faster payments in exchange for a fee.
Treat anyone who claims they can guarantee a refund or speed up the process for a charge with caution.
Eligible Amazon Prime subscribers may get some money back in the next payment round without any extra work. Customers should rely on official notices and avoid sharing financial details with anyone who promises to pay them back too quickly.
