Domino's closes 29 pizza stores in Italy. Here's why
Italy is where pizza was born, and it seems like Domino's has run out of time there. It is because of high debts, increasing mom-and-pop stores, and traditional pizza places that now deliver pizzas to homes through delivery applications.

Domino's filed for bankruptcy in April 2022 as its business failed in Italy. The court allowed Domino's 90 days of protection to prevent its creditors from demanding payment by selling its assets. The 90 days ended in July this year, and Domino's has said its final goodbyes to Italy.
But Italians love pizza
Pizza was born in Naples, Italy, and the Italians love their authentic and traditional pizza from the wood oven.
You will never find someone who visits Italy and does not taste the traditional pizzas. Pizzeria Fratelli Salvo and Pizzerium are two of the Top 20 Places to Eat Pizza Before You Die. The Italian way of life includes having oven-cooked pizzas, and Italians prefer those over Domino's pizzas made from machines.
A4: Many have seen this before but that's how much I love it. The Italian pizza I had in Maui last year for my b-day that was so good, I came back and replicated it 3 times in 6 months -https://t.co/ySJsiOOVG4 #FoodTravelChat pic.twitter.com/ooNBsiscd9

A traditional Italian pizza looks something like this:
A combination of vegetables like chickpeas, figs, and sweet onions. potatoes flavoured with Vesuvio tomatoes, mozzarella, and oregano. Sheet-style rectangle pizzas that change the flavour according to the season.
When you compare such a pizza with a machine-style Domino's pizza, you know which one will be a hit. While Domino's might work worldwide, it is sure to close shop in pizza's hometown, Italy.
