Ex-This Morning host Phillip Schofield opened up about his mental health struggles in a recent interview and referred to Caroline Flack, who was the former ‘Love Island’ host who committed suicide in 2020.

While referring to the ‘Love Island’ host, Caroline Flack, Schofield said, “This is how Caroline Flack felt”. She took her life in 2020. After the emotional interview with BBC, Flacks’ mother Chrisine told Schofield to not do anything stupid. Chrisine further also condemned ITV for its treatment of its presenters like “commodities”.
In the interview with the media outlet, Schofield rejected allegations that he “groomed” the younger colleague, whom he met during the school visit when the boy in the center of the accusation was 15. Furthermore, Schofield said that he was not involved in any sexual encounter until the ITV employee was around 20 years of age.
It is to note that ‘This Morning’ presenter Alison Hammond broke down during the most recent episode of the show while discussing Schofield’s BBC interview with her colleague Dermot O’Leary. Former ‘Good Morning Britain’ co-host Piers Morgan also tweeted in support of the former This Morning host and said it is time to stop the “relentless persecution” of Schofield.
