Confirming his death, Rocket City Championship Wrestling wrote in a post, “We here at Rocket City Championship Wrestling, with heavy hearts, are sad to bring you the news that one of our own, Charlie King ‘Chicken Finger,’ has passed away. We are all heartbroken by this loss of a great young man. Tonight, we celebrate the life of Charlie. We are all going to miss you, Charlie.”
No information is currently available about what happened to King.
Last month, Benjamin Satterley died at the age of 40, less than 24 hours after competing at AEW All Out in Illinois. Satterley was discovered unresponsive outside a CAVA restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, near Chicago O’Hare International Airport. He was found dead in a rental car on September 27, 2023. The cause of his death remains under investigation pending additional testing.
According to the police report, officers responded to the CAVA parking lot after a man was reported unresponsive inside a vehicle. Upon arriving at the scene, officers noted that there were no signs of injury or foul play. The report stated, “There were not any obviously suspicious marks upon Satterley nor circumstances within the vehicle.” Police also found saliva on the front of Satterley’s shirt and discovered medication inside the rental car, although the type of medication remained redacted. They also searched his pockets and backpack but reported finding nothing significant.
Notably, many prominent wrestling stars have died at a very young age in the past, including Bray Wyatt, aka Windham Rotunda, who died in August 2023 at the age of 36. His death was attributed to a heart attack.
Famous WWE star Umaga, aka Eddie Fatu, died in December 2009 at the age of 36 after suffering a heart attack.
Another legendary wrestler, André the Giant, died in his sleep from congestive heart failure at a hotel in Paris on January 27, 1993. He was 46.
