Benjamin Satterley death: From Bray Wyatt to Andre the Giant to Chyna, WWE stars who died before the age of 50

WWE star Benjamin Satterley, who was also known by his stage name Pac, has died at the age of 40. All Elite Wrestling (AEW) announced his death today but did not disclose the cause of death.

The English-born professional wrestler known for his high-flying style began his wrestling career in 2004 and signed with AEW in 2019. During his career, he competed under several names, most notably Pac and Adrian Neville. He competed in AEW's National Championship match against Andrade El Ídolo in Chicago on Saturday, where he was defeated.

Satterley began training to become a professional wrestler at the age of 18 after developing an interest in the sport through his aunt, who was a fan of the WWF, according to his booking agency, MN2S. He gained international recognition for his high-flying wrestling style and was given nicknames including “The Man That Gravity Forgot.” He began wrestling internationally in 2007 and performed as Adrian Neville from 2012 to 2018.


After joining AEW, Satterley became the inaugural AEW International Champion and a two-time AEW World Trios Champion.

Davey Boy Smith, aka the British Bulldog — Smith died of a heart attack on May 18, 2002, at the age of 39 while on vacation in British Columbia, Canada.

Brian Pillman — Pillman died on October 5, 1997, at the age of 35. He suffered a heart attack linked to an undiagnosed heart condition.

Chris Benoit — Benoit died in June 2007 at the age of 40. His death was ruled a suicide after he killed his wife and son before taking his own life.

Rick Rude — Rude died on April 20, 1999, at the age of 40. His death was caused by acute heart failure associated with an accidental overdose of medication.

Big Boss Man (Ray Traylor) — Traylor died of a heart attack on September 22, 2004, at the age of 41.

Road Warrior Hawk (Michael Hegstrand) — Hegstrand died on October 19, 2003, at the age of 46 after suffering a heart attack.

Andre the Giant — The legendary wrestler died in his sleep from congestive heart failure at a hotel in Paris on January 27, 1993. He was 46.

Big John Studd — Studd died on March 20, 1995, at the age of 47 after battling Hodgkin's disease and liver cancer.

The Junkyard Dog (Sylvester Ritter) — Ritter died at the age of 45 on June 1, 1998, in a single-car accident on Interstate 20 near Forest, Mississippi.

Scott “Bam Bam” Bigelow — The former professional wrestler died on January 19, 2007, at the age of 45 at his home in Hudson, Florida.

Rosey (Matt Anoaʻi) — The former WWE wrestler died on April 17, 2017, at the age of 47 from complications related to congestive heart failure.

Luna Vachon — The former WWE wrestler died on August 27, 2010, at the age of 48. Her death was attributed to an accidental overdose involving prescription drugs.

“Sensational” Sherri Martel — The WWE Hall of Famer died on June 15, 2007, at the age of 49 from an accidental overdose involving multiple drugs.

Balls Mahoney (Jonathan Rechner) — Mahoney died of a heart attack on April 12, 2016, at the age of 44 at his home in Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey.

Axl Rotten (Brian Knighton) — The former professional wrestler died on February 4, 2016, at the age of 44 from an accidental heroin overdose.
