Squid Game 2 trailer: Netizens have found the bad boy in new season of Netflix's most loved show

Netflix released a new trailer for "Squid Game" Season 2 on Wednesday. The trailer focuses on Player 456, played by Lee Jung-jae, and his reason for returning to the deadly competition.

Lee Jung-jae’s character won the first Squid Game. He returns to help other players and stop the game. The trailer shows struggles between players and guards, along with new dangerous challenges.

Wi Ha-jun returns as detective Hwang Jun-ho, and Lee Byung-hun as the Front Man. Hwang Dong-hyuk is the director and executive producer, alongside Kim Ji-yeon.


"Squid Game" premiered in 2021 and became Netflix’s most-watched show, with over 2.2 billion viewing hours. Season 1 received 17 Emmy nominations and won six, including awards for Lee Jung-jae and Lee You-mi.

The Squid Game Season 2 will premiere on December 26.

The official synopsis states: 'Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.'

Along with the character of Gi-hun, Season 1 returnees will include Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), the leader of the masked staff behind the game; Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun), a detective who sneaks into the game in search of his brother; and the Recruiter (Gong Yoo), the mysterious man in the suit who initially invited Gi-hun to play the game.

Squid Game 2 Bad Boys

Though much is not known about the characters of the new season, the trailer did drop few hints about who could be the new bad body of the season 2.

Many netizens said Choi Seung Hyun could be the Season 2's evil character.


"It's just 3 seconds but you can already tell that his annoying ass character would be very crucial to the story. Even though he is on the villain side, I cannot hate him and would definitely root for him instead," said one on X.



"Seunghyun being the Jang Deoksu (player 101) of Squid Game s2– ooh i just KNOW his elimination is gonna be crazy," said another.
