Choosing not to pursue his earlier intentions of heading to the United States, Seong Gi-hun plunges once more into the deadly contest, joining a fresh group of participants all battling for the massive reward of 45.6 billion won.The series was once again directed, written, and produced by Hwang Dong-hyuk. Along with Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-jun, Gong Yoo, and Lee Byung-hun will also be reprising their roles. Si-wan, Park Gyu-young, Kang Ha-neul, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an are among the new cast members. Squid was executive produced by Kim Ji-yeon and produced by Firstman Studio.
