WARSAW: Polish manufacturing activity grew at the fastest rate in 11 months in January thanks to accelerating production, new orders and exports, a survey showed on Monday.

The manufacturing PMI rose to 55.2 last month from 52.8 in December, data compiled by Markit and HSBC showed. Analysts polled by Reuters had expected the PMI to come in at 53.0.

Markit said in a statement that the data "signalled a strengthening upturn in business conditions", with the index's month-on-month increase the largest since early 2012.

"Production, new orders and exports all rose faster than in December, leading to stronger growth of employment and purchasing activity," Markit said.
