Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on August 12, 2026, attended the signing of Terms of Reference between India and the Southern African Customs Union in New Delhi. Goyal said, "The five SACU countries all want development, new infrastructure, and to create new employment opportunities for their youth. India has considerable such capacities that can be exported to their countries."
