Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday made an announcement assuring people that they will receive compensation for their losses.
"We will launch a scheme to provide aid to the victims of the Nuh violence," said the CM.
"In the case of movable property, if the loss is 5 lakh, the government will provide 80 per cent coverage. If the loss is between 5 to 10 lakh, 70 per cent will be covered. For losses between 10 to 20 lakh, 60 per cent will be covered," he added.
Aiming to beef up the security in the state, he sought four more companies of central forces in the wake of communal clashes in Haryana and said one battalion of the IRB will also be deployed in Nuh.
Twenty companies of central forces are already deployed in Haryana, 14 of them in Nuh, three in Palwal, two in Gurugram and one in Faridabad, he told a press conference.
He reiterated that the government would hold the rioters accountable and make them pay for the damages. A total of 116 individuals have already been arrested, and an additional 90 people have been placed under detention, according to the chief minister.
Six people including two Home Guards and four civilians have died in the incident.
Security has been beefed up at sensitive places in the national capital in the wake of violence in some districts of neighbouring Haryana, the Delhi Police had said earlier today.
There were incidents of violence overnight in Gurugram's Badshahpur and Sohna Road, as well.
The Haryana Police on Tuesday said that mobs killed a cleric in a late-night attack on a mosque, torched an eatery and vandalised shops as communal violence that began in Haryana's Nuh spilled over into neighbouring Gurugram.
