Nuh clashes update: Violence spills over to neighbouring areas of Gurugram
Security has been beefed up at sensitive places in the national capital in the wake of violence in some districts of neighbouring Haryana, the Delhi Police said on Wednesday.

The Haryana Police on Tuesday said that mobs killed a cleric in a late-night attack on a mosque, torched an eatery and vandalised shops as communal violence that began in Haryana's Nuh spilled over into neighbouring Gurugram.

Traffic was lighter than usual on Wednesday in Gurugram. While schools in most of the area were allowed to reopen, several institutions opted to cancel physical classes and moved online amid safety concerns.

Earlier today, Haryana CM ML Khattar said, "six people including two Home Guards and four civilians have died in the incident. 116 people have been arrested till now. Their remand is being taken."

"Keeping in view the violence in some districts of Haryana, adjoining Delhi, elaborate security arrangements have been made at all sensitive places in Delhi and additional police forces have also been deployed where necessary.

"Any attempt to harm Delhi's security and communal harmony will be dealt with strictly," the Delhi Police said.

Hindu outfits Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad are staging protests across the national capital against the Haryana violence.

The demonstration is being planned at a time when restrictions under CrPC section 144 are placed in Noida in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

The restrictions do not allow unlawful assembly of more than four people, or holding of rallies, protests, or processions, without prior permission from the police authorities, according to an official order which is in effect from July 20 till August 3.
