‘Who allowed illegal mining?’ Congress MP Saleng Sangma on Meghalaya coal mine blast

A blast at a suspected illegal rat-hole coal mine in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district killed 18 labourers, while authorities fear several others may still be trapped. The explosion struck the Thangsku area around 11 a.m. Rescue teams, including the NDRF, continue search operations as officials investigate the cause.
