The Indian Army is set to receive 840 long-range loitering munitions under contracts worth approximately ₹1,577 crore signed with Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and NIBE Private Limited. The systems, reportedly capable of striking targets at over 100 kilometres, are designed to operate in environments affected by jamming and spoofing. Procured under the Buy Indian category through the Fast Track Procedure, the deal strengthens the Army’s precision-strike capabilities while giving a major boost to India’s indigenous defence manufacturing ecosystem.
