Cabinet clears ₹13,041 cr railway multitracking from Kharagpur to Paradeep, NH-22 upgrade in Bihar

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved five infrastructure projects worth ₹13,041 crore, including four railway multitracking projects worth ₹9,450 crore and an 82.6-km four-laning of NH-22 in Bihar. The railway projects will add around 410 km of rail capacity across West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, improving passenger and freight movement and connecting nearly 6,448 villages. The Bihar highway upgrade will strengthen connectivity between Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi and Sonbarsa on the India-Nepal border.
