Tarang Shakti 2026: Rajnath witnesses IAF display, calls for self-reliance in critical defence tech

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended Exercise Tarang Shakti 2026 at Jodhpur Air Force Station, where he witnessed an aerial display by the Indian Air Force (IAF). Addressing the gathering, Singh said the global order is changing and highlighted the need for India’s armed forces to undergo fundamental transformation. He stressed that Atmanirbhar Bharat does not mean isolation, but building domestic capabilities to design, develop, manufacture, maintain and upgrade critical defence technologies. The exercise showcases India’s air power, operational capabilities and growing focus on defence self-reliance.
