On July 27, heavy waterlogging outside Rau's IAS Study Circle in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar area led to a tragic incident in which three civil services aspirants lost their lives. Tania Soni (25), Shreya Yadav (25), and Navin Delvin (28) died as floodwaters inundated the basement of the coaching centre.

Videos from the incident show the basement flooding after heavy rain. An iron gate at the entrance initially blocked the water but gave way when a speeding car drove by, causing a wave that broke through and flooded the basement. Students are seen rushing out, with some asking if anyone was left behind.

Delhi Coaching Centre: Police and Judicial Actions

The Delhi Police will interrogate officials from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) regarding the drainage system. On Sunday, a team from the civic body sealed 13 illegally-run coaching centres in the Old Rajinder Nagar area, including IAS Gurukul, Chahal Academy, and Plutus Academy, among others.
