‘Proud to be a Dimagi Naxal’: Chidambaram’s reaction to PM Modi’s remark draws sharp BJP attack
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Dimagi Naxal’ remark from the Red Fort has triggered a sharp political confrontation. Congress MP P Chidambaram called the term a new BJP political label and said he was “proud” to be called one. Congress youth leader Uday Bhanu introduced the phrase “paper-leak Naxal” while attacking exam irregularities. The BJP hit back, with Ravi Shankar Prasad accusing Chidambaram of shielding Naxal sympathisers while Sudhanshu Trivedi invoked Manmohan Singh’s 2006 Naxalism warning. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma went further, demanding a probe into Chidambaram’s tenure as Home Minister.
