Piyush Goyal on India-US Trade Deal: Farmers’ interests not compromised, we'll have strong advantage

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal defended India’s proposed free trade agreement with the United States at the 4th ISID-IDRA National Conference on India’s Industrial Transformation in Delhi. He said the agreement’s details had not yet been fully disclosed and criticised attempts to politicise the negotiations. Goyal expressed confidence that once the terms are made public, people will celebrate the deal, asserting that the interests of Indian farmers and other stakeholders would not be compromised. He also defended India’s eight concluded free trade agreements, saying he had not encountered a single flaw in their publicly available details.
