INDIA bloc leaders meet ahead of ‘Public Impeachment’ event against CEC

INDIA bloc leaders met at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence in Delhi ahead of their November 1 rally at Ramlila Maidan, where opposition leaders plan a ‘public impeachment’ event targeting Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. JMM MP Mahua Maji said the event would bring together parliamentarians, political leaders, civil society members and voters whose names were deleted from electoral rolls. CPI(M) MP John Brittas said the programme would include a presiding officer, speeches by opposition representatives and testimonies from those affected by the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
