‘Oil supplies to India increased’: Russia signals stronger energy cooperation at BRICS, Delhi

At the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting 2026 in New Delhi, Sergey Lavrov outlined Russia’s expanding strategic partnership with India, focusing on energy supplies, trade, transport corridors and de-dollarisation. Lavrov said Russian oil exports to India have increased significantly and stressed cooperation in fertilisers, nuclear energy, investment and connectivity projects like the International North-South Transport Corridor and Northern Sea Route.
