NTA eyes China’s Gaokao Model; explores knowledge-sharing & global push for exam technology
India’s National Testing Agency is looking beyond its borders for lessons on conducting large-scale, high-stakes examinations, with China’s Gaokao emerging as one example of a secure examination model. On the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, NTA DG Abhishek Singh said BRICS could provide an opportunity for countries to exchange knowledge and expertise. The NTA is also working to strengthen its domestic examination framework, with AI, biometric verification and Computer-Based Testing at the core, before potentially offering its technology as a ‘digital public good’ to other countries, including BRICS members.
