Noida: Mob of society residents assault couple for feeding stray canines after dogs attack six-year-old

In a distressing incident unfolding in Sector – 70, Noida, a mob reportedly attacked a young couple known for their efforts in feeding and caring for stray dogs in the area. The altercation erupted on May 2, triggered by an incident where one of the stray dogs purportedly attacked a six-year-old girl within the society premises.

According to media accounts, the child sustained serious injuries but was later reported to be in stable condition. In the aftermath, aggrieved residents voiced their discontent against the presence of dog feeders in the society, subsequently seeking police intervention.



However, the situation escalated as the enraged mob allegedly targeted the aforementioned couple and even confronted and assaulted law enforcement officials.

People For Animals (PFA), via their official X account, shared footage of the tumultuous scene, condemning the violent outburst. They stated, “A violent mob at Pan Oasis, Sector 70 Noida, defied the law as it attacked a young couple who feed & care for community dogs. Even Police were pushed around & assaulted. Immediate action is requested against the rioters.”

The animal welfare organization further asserted that the caregivers, who had responsibly ensured the sterilization and vaccination of society dogs, faced physical assault, verbal abuse, and death threats.

Additionally, the PFA highlighted residents' threats to harm and relocate the dogs.

While an official complaint has been lodged regarding the incident, an FIR (First Information Report) is yet to be filed.
