‘No risk of disappearing here’: Minister Goyal's subtle Jack Ma swipe at China in Tokyo

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal pitches India to Japanese investors in Tokyo on August 25, saying, "You don't have to worry that you will disappear if you become a successful businessman and then land up as a professor at a Japanese university," citing Alibaba founder Jack Ma's example who joined Tokyo College, University of Tokyo as visiting professor from May 1, 2023. Goyal says, "That risk doesn't happen in India" and "IPR is respected in India and entrepreneurship is celebrated in India" while outlining three key asks for companies expanding footprint during his August 24-27 Japan visit.
