‘$100 billion trade by 2030’: Jaishankar outlines 3 proposals to address $50B trade imbalance

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar addresses the 27th IRIGC-TEC in Moscow and says bilateral trade in goods "increased more than fourfold" from "about US dollars 13 billion in 2021-22 to nearly US dollars 60 billion in 2025-26" while trade imbalance widened from "6.6 billion to over US dollars 50 billion". Jaishankar says "Addressing this imbalance is today one of our foremost priorities" and adds that progress on market access and payment mechanisms will be critical for achieving the shared objective of "US dollars 100 billion in bilateral trade by 2030", as he lays out 3 proposals to strengthen the mechanism.
