Naidu speaks on Air India Phuket-Delhi turbulence; announces LoIs for 11 new FTOs

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu said the DGCA is investigating the Air India Phuket–Delhi flight that encountered severe turbulence on August 4, adding that "the data recorder, the voice recorder, everything is in the possession of DGCA" as part of the probe.He also said the government has issued Letters of Intent for 11 new Flying Training Organisations (FTOs) and that India will need "more than 30,000 pilots" over the next 10 years, as "500 more aircraft" are expected to join the fleet in the next five years.
