Security has been increased in Mumbai
Security in Mumbai has been ramped up after the Intelligence Bureau warned of a possible terror attack, especially at places of worship that have high footfall. All temples in the city have been instructed to remain alert and report any suspicious activity as a precaution.

"We have been instructed to conduct mock drills in crowded areas and religious places. All deputy commissioners of police are actively monitoring the security in their respective jurisdictions," a senior police officer told TOI.

There was heavy police deployment in the crowded Crawford Market area on Friday. The police, withholding details, said that it was a security drill.

"With upcoming festivals and assembly elections, we are conducting security drills at Crawford Market and other key locations across the city," the officer said.

A senior police officer inspected security arrangements in Chembur and in Matunga, a temple was closed for devotees following a police inspection in the morning.
