Manorama and her husband Dilip Khedkar were being searched for by the police after a video showed the woman threatening a few people with a gun over a land dispute.
"Manorama Khedkar has been detained from Mahad in Raigad district and she is being brought to Pune where, after the completion of formalities, she will be placed under arrest," Superintendent of Police, Pune Rural, Pankaj Deshmukh, said.
An FIR was filed against Manorama, Dilip and five others after the video from Dhadwali village, Pune's Mulshi tehsil, surfaced on social media. They face charges under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), including section 323 (dishonest or fraudulent removal or concealment of property) and the Arms Act.
Puja Khedkar has been in limelight after it was found that she allegedly registered in the disabled and OBC categories for the IAS exam. Her behaviour in the Pune collector's office was also questionable.
Following the controversy, the Maharashtra government put Puja's district training programme on hold and summoned her back to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration for "necessary action."
