Controversial video emerges of IAS officer Puja Khedkar's mother threatening farmers with gun amid land dispute

A old video has resurfaced, featuring Manorama Khedkar, mother of trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar, in a confrontation where she allegedly wielded a gun while confronting local men amidst a land dispute in Pune's Mulshi taluka. Puja Khedkar herself has been embroiled in controversy, accused of misrepresenting her credentials during her UPSC candidacy and facing allegations of misusing official privileges.

The video is doing the rounds since the IAS officer was shunted from Pune to Washim after she came under the spotlight when she was transferred from Pune to Washim district before the completion of her training after kicking up controversy with demands such as a separate cabin and staff.

The controversy revolves around Puja's father, Dilip Khedkar, a retired IAS officer known for his substantial property holdings, including a 25-acre plot in Mulshi taluka of Pune district. Allegations from local farmers suggest that the Khedkar family may have encroached upon neighboring lands, leading to confrontations captured in the viral video.


In the footage, Manorama Khedkar is seen confronting a man with a handgun, demanding to see land documents purportedly in her name. The incident has prompted Pune Rural police to launch an investigation into the legality of her firearm possession.

Further complicating matters, Puja Khedkar has been at the center of controversy for alleged demands of unauthorized privileges, including the use of official insignia on her private vehicle and occupying senior officials' offices without authorization. These actions have drawn criticism and led to her recent transfer to Washim district amid ongoing disciplinary proceedings.

Documents accessed by NDTV reveal Puja Khedkar's substantial property holdings across Maharashtra, valued at ₹22 crore, including multiple plots and apartments. These revelations intensify concerns over her conduct and eligibility as an IAS officer, with allegations of misuse of government resources and positions.

As investigations into both the land dispute and administrative conduct continue, the case underscores broader issues of governance ethics and accountability within the civil service.
