Manipur: 13-hour shutdown, candlelight vigil seeking justice for BJP MLA Valte in Churachandpur
Zomi frontal organisations enforced a 13-hour shutdown across Churachandpur in Manipur, demanding justice for BJP MLA Vungzagin Valte, who died on February 20, 2026. Protesters also held a candlelight vigil in Lamka and called for an NIA probe into the 2023 mob attack on the MLA. Demonstrators warned of intensifying agitation if authorities fail to respond.
