Mallikarjun Kharge questions immunity for CEC Gyanesh Kumar: ‘Not even the President, CJI have it’

Mallikarjun Kharge accused the Election Commission of failing to act on alleged irregularities exposed by two CEC members and claimed the government was formed through “vote chori” at the Centre and in states. He criticised the 2023 law granting immunity to the Chief Election Commissioner and other election officials, saying even the President and Chief Justice do not enjoy similar protection. Kharge alleged the immunity shielded the CEC from accountability over alleged electoral fraud and vowed to fight it.
