IMD issues rain alert for UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim and North Eastern states

On the weather forecast for the upcoming days, IMD Scientist Dr Shashi Kant says, “From June 1st up to yesterday, the 9th, India has recorded 14% less rainfall than normal… Regarding the next two days, the seasonal monsoon trough will remain in its normal position or shift slightly northwards. As a result, the Indo-Gangetic plains—specifically Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, and the Northeastern states—will continue to experience spells of heavy to very heavy rainfall throughout the week… Rainfall in Delhi is expected to decrease further starting tomorrow, with only the possibility of very light showers…”
