The Terminal, Guwahati's first 24x7 food court, will officially open on 1 November 2026. It will consist of 42 food and retail outlets providing diverse culinary options, including Assamese and North Indian cuisines.

Guwahati: Guwahati is about to get a place to eat that never closes. The Terminal, the city's first 24x7 food court, was formally inaugurated by Chetan Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway, on Friday.

Located at Railway Station Guwahati, opposite of 240 transit camp, The Terminal brings together 42 food and retail mix outlets under one roof, serving Assamese, Northeastern, North Indian, Chinese, continental, cafe and dessert every hour of the day, all seven days of the week.

The Terminal will officially open its doors to the public on Sunday, 1 November 2026. From that day, it will operate round the clock, every day of the week. The Terminal will feature a diverse mix of dining options, including popular Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) brands such as KFC, Domino’s, Subway, Costa Coffee, Baskin Robbins, Wow! Momo, Belgian Waffles, and more, bringing familiar favourites and a wide variety of culinary experiences together under one roof.

The Terminal is Guwahati's first 24x7 food court, located at Panbazar, Station Road, Guwahati Railway Station. It brings together numerous food outlets offering Assamese and other North-eastern cuisines, North Indian, Chinese and continental food, alongside café and dessert options in a safe, clean and family-friendly setting, open round the clock, every day of the year.

Srivastava said that Indian Railways has introduced this scheme to generate additional revenue. Under this initiative, private businesses are invited to use the circulating areas of railway stations through short-term partnerships with the Railways. He said that railways will get Rs 2.7 Crore from this Terminal. “At the same time, these facilities provide additional amenities for passengers and create business opportunities for entrepreneurs. So, it is a win-win situation for everyone — Indian Railways, passengers and business owners.”

He added that this model is already being implemented across Indian Railways. The initiative was introduced around a decade ago to generate additional revenue for the railways while improving passenger amenities. “As you can see, several facilities have been developed for passengers. Another important feature is that visitors can experience the architecture and culture of Assam through these facilities.”
