From Samudra Manthan to nuclear energy: PM Modi unveils big energy security push from Red Fort
From the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined a major push for India’s energy security, saying areas once designated as ‘No-Go’ zones are now being opened as ‘Go-Ahead’ areas for exploration. He announced an ₹85,000 crore allocation to accelerate offshore exploration under the ‘Samudra Manthan’ initiative. PM Modi also set a target of 100 GW of nuclear power by 2047, highlighted India’s progress in fast breeder technology and pointed to the rapid growth of solar power and piped gas connections.
