Evacuation underway in Okha, Gujarat, as Cyclone Biparjoy approaches
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert in six districts in Gujarat, where 18 NDRF teams have evacuated over 30,000 people living near the sea coast to temporary shelters. The cyclone will likely hit the shore near Jakhau port between Mandvi in Kachchh with sustained wind speeds of 125-135 kmph & max speed of 150 kmph.
