‘Depart, I Say…’: Mahua Moitra backs no-confidence motion against LS Speaker Om Birla
TMC MP Mahua Moitra delivered a fiery speech in the Lok Sabha while supporting the opposition’s no-confidence motion against the Speaker. Moitra accused the chair of suppressing opposition voices, citing mass suspensions of MPs, denial of adjournment motions, and the absence of a Deputy Speaker for years. She argued that parliamentary traditions were being weakened and said democracy depends on allowing dissent inside the House.
