Delhi water crisis: A war of words between BJP and AAP over the water crisis in Delhi continued. AAP blamed Haryana for not releasing water and BJP organised protests. BJP leaders criticised the Kejriwal-led government for not finding solutions, w...

Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdeva along with party workers held a ‘matki phod’ demonstration in Krishna Nagar, while BJP MP Manoj Tiwai held a protest in Mukherjee Nagar.
"Delhi Jal Board is a department of Delhi government. What kind of Water Minister (of Delhi) is Atishi? Only to sell water to 'tanker mafias'? This is a very big question. That's why we are protesting with the people of Delhi," said Tiwari.
Another BJP MP, Praveen Khandelwal, said, “Water issue is not new in Delhi. Every year during summer, water problem happens. I want to ask the Kejriwal-led government that if this happens every year, then what have they done to resolve it? The Kejriwal government is not interested in finding solutions. They want this problem to persist. They just want to do politics," at a protest site.
On Sunday, BJP workers held a protest near the Delhi Water Board and vandalised the office to protest the water crisis in the national capital.
Blaming the BJP further, he accused the party of conspiracy to ensure there was no water available for the people of Delhi.
“BJP wants no water for Delhi people and they are doing all conspiracies to ensure it. Delhi gets water from Haryana. If they don't give the required water, a shortage is caused. We are not getting water as per our demand. When we request the Haryana government, they don't listen. We request the LG but he doesn't do the required work," he added
He further questioned the seven BJP MPs from Delhi for not raising their voices against the Haryana government.
Delhi water minister had requested the Haryana government to release water on humanitarian grounds after the Supreme Court asked the Upper Yamuna River Board to decide on the issue.
The court accused the Delhi government of mismanagement of water. It also ordered the government to take action over tanker mafia.
Delhi has been facing severe water crisis amid the ongoing heatwave.
