Delhi AQI hits 245, GRAP-1 restrictions take effect; Sirsa lists curbs to tackle pollution
Delhi recorded its first ‘poor’ air quality day of the season, with the AQI reaching 245 — its highest level in 100 days. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has invoked Stage 1 of GRAP across Delhi-NCR, introducing measures to curb construction dust, waste burning and pollution from commercial kitchens. Transport remains Delhi’s largest pollution contributor, accounting for 20.5% of the city’s emissions, according to the Decision Support System for Air Quality Management in Delhi. The air quality is likely to remain in the ‘poor’ category in the coming days.
