A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) woman constable has been arrested according to some news reports for allegedly slapping actor and newly elected BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport. The incident occurred on Thursday, just two days after Ranaut was elected to the Lok Sabha from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

A video of the incident went viral on social media platrforms, in which Kulwinder said “She (Kangana) had claimed that women were sitting there (at the protest) for Rs 100. Would she sit there? My mother was also at the protest when she made that statement.”

According to Mohali Police sources, the CISF woman constable who slapped BJP leader and actor Kangana Ranaut has been booked under sections 321 and 341 of IPC. She has not been arrested yet.

Incident at Chandigarh Airport
Kangana Ranaut, in a video message, recounted the incident, stating she was slapped and verbally abused by the constable during a security check. The actress mentioned that the constable, seemingly upset over Ranaut's stance on the farmers' protests, approached her and struck her in the face. "She hit me in the face and started abusing me. I asked her why she did it, and she said she supports the farmer protests," Ranaut said.

The CISF has taken swift action by suspending the constable and launching an investigation. "We have filed a complaint at the local police station against the concerned lady constable. She has been suspended with immediate effect, and an inquiry has been ordered into the matter," a senior CISF official confirmed.

Kangana was slapped while boarding a flight to Delhi at around 3:30 PM on Thursday to attend a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) scheduled for today.

Later, the Bollywood actress addressed the issue on social media and assured her fans that she was alright.

Statements from Ranaut and the Constable
Ranaut addressed her followers on social media, assuring them of her safety. "I am safe. I am perfectly fine. The incident took place during the security check. After I was done, a woman constable waited for me, came from the side, hit me in the face, and started abusing me," she said.

The constable's actions appeared to be motivated by Ranaut's previous comments on the farmers' protests. Another video circulating on social media showed the constable explaining her actions, citing Ranaut's earlier statement about farmers being paid to protest. "She stated that the farmers are sitting there for Rs 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she gave this statement," the constable said.

The CISF, responsible for airport security, has ordered a court of inquiry into the incident to determine the circumstances and prevent future occurrences. The arrest and suspension of the constable underscore the seriousness with which the authorities are treating the matter. The incident has sparked discussions about the broader implications of personal views influencing professional conduct, especially in sensitive security roles.
