Chennai rains: Will schools remain closed today?

KTCCC region of Tamil Nadu comprising Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Chennai, and Chengelpattu is likely to receive heavy rainfall on Thursday. The weather department has issued an orange alert for the regions.

Chennai rains: Schools holiday today

There has been no official announcement regarding school holiday on Thursday in districts of Tamil Nadu. In case of queries regarding school holidays, students or parents can get in touch with the school administration.



The repeated spells of heavy rainfall this month have already led to several school and college closures in affected areas, including Chennai.


The daily bulletin of weather agency reads, "Light to moderate rain at a few places (at many places over North Coastal Tamil Nadu and at a few places over rest Tamilnadu) with thunderstorm and lighting at one or two places is likely to occur over Tamilnadu Puducherry & Karaikal area.’’

''Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram districts. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Villupuram, Cuddalore districts and Puducherry, ‘’ it added.
