Can Air India soar again? New CEO Tewolde Gebremariam sets out his vision on safety, trust & costs

Air India’s incoming CEO and Managing Director Tewolde Gebremariam has set out an ambitious vision for the Tata Group-owned airline, declaring, ‘We will Make Air India Great Again.’ With more than 37 years of aviation experience and 11 years at the helm of Ethiopian Airlines, Gebremariam takes on the challenge as Air India seeks to improve safety, operational reliability, customer experience and financial performance. Air India Chairman N Chandrasekaran has outlined four key priorities for the airline: safety, rebuilding passenger trust, operational excellence and cost discipline.
