6,300-hectare Delhi Ridge to become 'Lungs of Delhi' under Amit Shah’s green infra roadmap
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has unveiled a major green infrastructure roadmap for Delhi. The Centre and the Delhi government will develop 6,300 hectares of the Delhi Ridge into legally protected forest land, plant over 1.3 crore native plants, and create more than 70 ponds and eight special forests. The announcement also includes 300 new electric buses, new bus depots, vehicle testing centres, and an expanded sewage treatment network to support the Yamuna cleanup. The Centre says the projects will transform Delhi into a cleaner, greener and more sustainable capital.
