Uttar Pradesh Election Results 2024: ‘UP Ke Ladke’ Rahul, Akhilesh spring a surprise
On the day of the 2024 Lok Sabha election results, Uttar Pradesh emerged as a gripping political thriller, with 'UP ke ladke' Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav presenting a strong challenge to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The INDIA bloc also made inroads into BJP's seat share.

Samajwadi Party won 37 seats, followed by BJP (33) and Congress (6).

The saffron party's result is much lower than its 2019 tally, when it registered a massive victory winning 62 out of 80 seats.

The INDIA bloc has registered a strong performance with Samajwadi Party and Congress as compared to the previous elections.

Meanwhile, Congress' KL Sharma won against BJP leader Smriti Irani from the Amethi seat. She said that she gave 10 years of her life to Amethi and will continue to serve the area in times to come.

Exit polls conducted on Saturday by major television channels predict a decisive victory for Prime Minister Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies, outpacing a broad opposition alliance led by the Congress party and its main campaigner, Rahul Gandhi.
