TDP, BJP, and JSP have announced a seat sharing agreement in Andhra Pradesh.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has unveiled its second list of candidates for the impending assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh. This announcement comes shortly after the release of its initial list of candidates.

In a tweet on Sunday, N Chandrababu Naidu stated, "The first list of candidates contesting on behalf of the Telugu Desam Party in the upcoming 2024 elections has already been placed before the public. Now we have brought you the second list, with 34 more candidates." He emphasized the importance of public opinion in the candidate selection process, urging the people of the state to support and ensure the victory of all TDP candidates.

The TDP, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Jana Sena Party (JSP) have recently reached a seat-sharing agreement in Andhra Pradesh for the impending elections. According to this pact, the BJP will contest from six parliamentary seats, while the TDP and JSP will vie for 17 and two seats, respectively. In the assembly elections, the BJP will compete for 10 seats, the TDP for 144 seats, and the JSP for 21 seats.

The agreement was finalized during a meeting held at Amaravati following discussions between the three parties in Delhi, where the alliance was formalized. It's worth noting that Andhra Pradesh has a total of 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly seats.

Naidu's decision to ally with the BJP has sparked criticism from his opponents, particularly in light of his past rift with the party. Notably, Naidu withdrew from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in 2018 due to the Modi government's stance on granting Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh.

APCC president YS Sharmila has demanded an explanation from Naidu regarding his alignment with the BJP, citing the party's alleged betrayal of the state's interests over the past decade.
