Hitting out at the central government, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that PM Modi had promised women reservation but said that it will be implemented after the survey. Rahul said, if Congress comes to power, women will implement the reservation immediately.
Here are the five promises Congress has made under Nari Nyay:
• Mahalakshmi: A woman in a poor family to receive an annual amount of 1 lakh rupees.
• Half the population, full rights: In all new recruitments in the central government, half the seats will be reserved for women.
• Respect for power: The central government will double its contribution to the monthly wages of women who work in Asha, Anganwadi, and Mid-Day Meal programs.
• Savitribai Phule Hostel: The central government will double the number of hostels for working women in the country, with at least one hostel in each district.
Earlier, the Congress had unveiled 'Yuva Nyay' its five pledges aimed at attracting young voters and farmers ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Rahul Gandhi had said that if his party secures victory in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, it will address various issues, including the filling of 30 lakh vacant government positions and the enactment of legislation to prevent leaks in government recruitment exams.
These pledges, dubbed as "yuva nyay" (justice for youth), were revealed by the Congress on X. They encompass:
- Filling 30 lakh government vacancies.
- Offering apprenticeships for youth.
- Enforcing laws against paper leaks.
- Ensuring social security for gig workers.
- Establishing a Rs 5,000-crore startup fund to support entrepreneurs under 40.
Addressing concerns about paper leaks, Gandhi emphasized the Congress's commitment to standardizing government recruitment exams and eliminating outsourcing in the process.
