Rahul Gandhi announces five Congress guarantees

During Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Congress' Rahul Gandhi on Thursday announced five "guarantees", as part of its pre-poll promises ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. These guarantees focussed on job creation for the unemployed youth, and included a vow to immediately fill up 30 lakh vacancies for permanent jobs in the central government if Congress is voted to power.

"We have counted that there are 30 lakh government vacancies. Modiji and BJP won't fill these up. So after coming to power, our first step would be recruiting for these 30 lakh government jobs," Gandhi announced at Banswara in Rajasthan.

Later, Gandhi also posted his promised guarantees on X. "Youth of the country! Congress is giving you 5 historic guarantees which will change your destiny. 1. Recruitment Trust: Guarantee of immediate permanent appointment to 30 lakh government posts. 2. First job assured: Guaranteed apprenticeship with a stipend of ₹1 lakh per year for every graduate and diploma holder. 3. Freedom from paper leaks: Guarantee of conducting examinations in a reliable manner by making a new law to stop paper leaks. 4. Social security in the GIG economy: Guaranteed better working conditions, pensions and social security for the work force of the GIG economy. 5. Yuva Roshni: Guaranteed to make youth entrepreneurs by giving them start-up funds at the district level from the national fund of ₹5,000 crore. It is the resolve of Congress to make the dreams of the youth a reality."
